

This feature is not a one-off, and Nintendo has announced that pre-downloading will be coming to the 3DS in the future, and that download codes bought from merchants and physical stores will be eligible for pre-downloading. This is otherwise known as "unlocking" a pre-ordered and pre-loaded title. The way the system will work is that customers will be able to download most of the game before release, and then will only need to download a very small amount of data upon release. The new game, which is of major importance to the Nintendo, will be the first Wii U title to support pre-loading, which Nintendo is referring to as "pre-downloading." In a series of statements, Nintendo is presenting a view of a digital future, and the most pressing feature involves ' Super Smash Bros.' for the Wii U.

Even so, the company is becoming more and more comfortable taking advantage and planning for customers who favor digital ownership. In the past, Nintendo has been very resistant to adding certain online features to their platforms, and even now still carries on without a proper unified digital ownership plan for each customer.
